Terms and conditions for tours and rentals

These terms apply to the boat tours and boat rentals run by SC Travel Delta Star SRL (VAT no. RO33982696, Trade Register no. J36/12/16.01.2015, Strada a II-a nr. 282, Sulina, Tulcea County, Romania) and presented on this website. By booking, you accept these terms.

In short

Booking: Tours run by prior phone booking only, with a 30% deposit of the total cost.
Children: Children aged 2 and under travel free. Older children pay the full price and get their own seat.
Private group: The boat is for your group only. Table prices are per boat, not per person, unless stated otherwise.
Safety: Every passenger gets a life jacket.
Third-party services: Lunch and the car or cart at the destination are not provided by Travel Delta Star and are not included in the price.
Prices: Prices may be negotiated depending on season and number of trips. Prices and services may change without prior notice.

1. Booking and deposit

Tours and rentals run by prior phone booking only, on 0752 917 592. A booking is confirmed once a 30% deposit of the total cost is paid. Our dispatch office tells you how to pay.

2. Prices

Prices on the website are in Romanian lei. Unless stated otherwise, the price is per boat for your group, not per person. Prices may be negotiated depending on the season and the number of trips. Prices and services may change without prior notice; for a confirmed booking the price agreed at booking applies.

3. What the price includes

Each tour and rental page lists what is and is not included. Lunch and the car or horse-cart transfer at the destination (for example to Letea Forest) are provided by third parties, not by Travel Delta Star, and are paid separately to the provider. Fuel is not included in rentals.

4. Children

Children aged 2 and under travel free. Older children pay the full price and get their own seat. Minors travel only with an adult responsible for them.

5. Cancellations and changes

If you cannot come or want another day, let our dispatch office know as early as possible. Cancellations and changes, including what happens to the deposit, are handled by the dispatch office.

A tour may be postponed if the weather (strong wind, storm) or the water level does not allow safe navigation; our dispatch office offers you another day.

6. Safety on board

Every passenger gets a life jacket and wears it when asked.
Passengers follow the skipper's instructions; the skipper may shorten or change the route if weather or safety requires it.
Anyone under the influence of alcohol who endangers the safety of others may not board.

7. Rules in the Biosphere Reserve

The Danube Delta is a biosphere reserve. We use only the tourist routes approved by the ARBDD. Visitors need an ARBDD access permit; do not leave litter, pick plants or disturb birds and animals.

8. Boat rental

A rental contract is signed; the renter shows an ID document.
For a self-drive boat, the renter must hold a valid boating licence for the boat class.
The boat is collected and returned with a full tank, in the condition it was received.
The renter is liable for damage to the boat caused by their fault during the rental.

9. Luggage and personal items

Each passenger is responsible for their personal items. We recommend a waterproof bag for phones and cameras.

10. Complaints and disputes

If anything goes wrong, call us or write to contact@traveldeltastar.ro; we try to settle everything amicably. You can also use the alternative dispute resolution (SAL) procedure of the Romanian consumer authority ANPC: anpc.ro/ce-este-sal. Romanian law applies.
